I make complex systems legible for the teams who run them now, and the ones who'll run them later.

I'm a Solutions Engineer at Weill Cornell Medicine, fifteen years into a career in IT, the last several spent working the seams between infrastructure, security, and the documentation that ties them together. Most of what I do comes down to one thing: understanding how a sprawling set of systems actually fits together, then translating it into something a team can act on. I'm the person who maps the dependencies nobody knew existed, records why a decision was made, and keeps that knowledge in the open so no one has to reverse-engineer it from scratch.

That curiosity doesn't clock out at five. I'd rather build and self-host a tool than rent one, partly to learn how it works, partly for the quiet satisfaction of running it myself. My homelab is a perpetual, rewarding work in progress. Most of my time outside work, though, goes to my wife and two kids, which is exactly where I want it.
